YOU CAN DROP IN AND/OR BRING A FRIEND!
WHEN YOU ARRIVE YOU WILL BE ASKED TO FILL OUT A QUESTIONAIRRE AND PARTICIPATE IN A BASIC LINEDANCE WITH A GROUP OF 10 OR MORE AUDITIONERS
FROM THERE, WE SEPERATE THE GROUP INTO SMALLER GROUPS OF 3 OR 4 TO TRY OUT SOME OF OUR CHOREOGRAPHY. IF YOU ARE BEING CONCIDERED FOR ONE OF OUR FRONT LINE POSITIONS, WE MAY ASK YOU TO TRY SOME "TRICK" MOVES. THIS IS VERY COMFORTABLE AS YOU ARE NEVER DANCING ALONE
AFTER THE AUDITION, WE MAY CALL YOU TO EITHER REVIEW A SECOND AUDITION OR TO INVITE YOU TO THE TEAM. WE DO NOT CONTACT UNACCEPTED APPLICANTS.
ANYONE CAN TRY OUT AS LONG AS YOU ARE 19 YEAR OF AGE OR OLDER!

Q- What are you looking for in a new recruit?
A- a great attitude, someone who picks up dances well, and someone who is reliable and a team player
Q- What should I wear to the open house?
A- Anything comfortable or Country Apparel
Q- If I do get a call back, what happens next?
A- Everyone goes through a probabtion period where we can really see how fast you pick up our routines and whether you are a good fit for the team (normally 3 months). At this point we go over specifics in what is expected of you in joining the team.
Q- When are your practices?
A- Practices every Tuesday evening 8pm-9:30pm. New recruits also have extra practices on Sunday afternoons until they learn our routines (normally 3-6 months)
Q- What is involved with being a Gabby's Girl?
A- LOTS OF FUN! Practices, performances, meeting new friends, promoting Gabby's Cabaret, and having free dance lessons... along with lots of perks from local events and sponsors
Q- How long is the commitment?
A- We ask that you commit to one full year from your first performance date.
Q- When do you normally perform?
A- It varies throughout the year. We give you lots of advance notice so that you can arrange your schedule. We usually have 1-3 Out of town weekend trips throughout the year. Our road trips are the best!!
Q- What are the costs and/or benefits?
A- Gabby's Girls is a strictly volunteer team, you will not be paid personally for any perfomance time.
Team Leaders get a small compensation for there work outside of regular dancer duties. We have 3-4 fundraisers a year that go directly towards the team fund for travel, advertsing, and uniform expences. You are expected to be at all fundraisers given 2 months notice. There are NO TEACHING FEE'S TO JOIN!! Although there maybe a small amount of uniform and travel costs out of your pocket.
